Groups

Home-start North-West Hampshire has developed considerably in recent years and has now expanded our support provision in the area by the addition of a variety of groups.
Multiple Birth Group
- Meets once a month in Ramsdell Village Hall. 12.30 – 2.30 (usually 2nd Thursday of a month)
- Group Aims: offering families coping with multiple births the opportunity to socialise and support each other in a safe and friendly environment.
- We provide lunch for parents and any children old enough to eat with us.
- Introduction of mums in the third trimester of twin pregnancies.

Tadley and Basingstoke Family Group
- Tadley Group meets on Tuesdays, term time only, at Tadley Methodist Church, Main Road Tadley from 9.45am until 11.45am.
- Basingstoke Group meets Wednesdays, term time only, at All Saints Church Hall, Basingstoke from 10.00 – 12.00
- Group Aims: self support, friendship, preventing isolation for vulnerable mums who may be suffering or recovering from post-natal depression or facing other stressful family situations.
- Children have play and craft activities provided by Group Worker and the volunteers.
- Parents and children share a nutritious/healthy snack followed by interactive play and story/singing time before the session ends.
- Opportunity for visitors to the group for either private 1-1 talks with parents (e.g. Social Services re benefits) or for group discussion e.g. Hampshire Fire & Rescue, Library Outreach Worker, Beautician.
Young Mums Group (under 20 years of age when joining group)
- We currently support a group of young mums on a one to one basis.
- Aims : focus on parenting skills, and essential life skills. Input from other relevant agencies e.g. Health Visitors, Library outreach worker, staff from the local benefits office and housing department.
Dad’s Support
We run an informal dads supper evening once a month, a group of parents who are under appreciated or acknowledged.
