Who we help

The examples given here are to illustrate some of the situations where Home-Start volunteers can help.

If you were in your local chemist and a man carrying a young baby approached you asking for advice on which baby food products would be suitable for his son, explaining that his wife had recently left him and that he felt daunted by all the new experiences he was facing,

Would you walk away without trying to help him?

If you visited your doctor’s surgery and sat next to a young woman who told you that she had recently been diagnosed with breast cancer, that she was finding the treatment gruelling and was terrified that she would not live long enough to see her children grow up,

Would you walk away leaving her visibly upset?

If you were in your local supermarket and the woman in front of you was trying to juggle a toddler, a trolley full of shopping and new born twins,

Would you walk by and leave her struggling to cope?

If you would have felt compassionate enough to give any of these parents above a little time, you would have made a huge difference to their day.

There are many parents facing daunting situations like these who need a little support to help them through bad times. Home-Start North West Hampshire needs volunteers to make a difference to local families. Can you help?
