Lodden Valley LionsThanks to Basingstoke Voluntary Services (BVS) we learned that Lodden Valley Lions were offering a £1,000 REWARD from the LIONS DEN to improve the lives of people in the Tadley, Kingsclere, Mortimer and Sherborne St John area. We applied and two people visited the Lion’s Den to describe the work that we do. We are pleased to say that we have received a cheque for £1000 towards our next volunteer prep course which will start in September, and are very grateful to Lodden Valley Lions for their support.Teddy Bears PicnicThe Teddy Bear’s Picnic was held this year in Eastrop Park and attended by about 30 people (families and volunteers). The weather forecast was not great, but it was dry when we arrived and the children had a great time on the play equipment, climbing the rope pyramid and enjoying the swings and roundabout. Luckily we were able to use the shelter for our picnic as it started to rain just as we started to eat. Despite the weather, a good time was had by all, and we look forward to next year’s picnic.   Home-Start is a voluntary organisation committed to promoting the welfare of families with at least one child under 5 years of age.Volunteers offer regular support, friendship and practical help to families under stress in their own homes to prevent family crisis and breakdown.Home-Start North West Hampshire is based in Basingstoke and covers Basingstoke and the rural areas of North Hampshire, i.e. Kingsclere, Burghclere, Bishops Green, Headley, Tadley, Woolton Hill, Whitchurch and Overton. Please use the tabs at the top of this page to explore our website.
